Heaviest snow in my life

Recently, snow has been falling heavily in Britain. For me or other people, snow always relates to romantic and pleasant events such as riding on sledges, creating a lovely snow man as well as having a exciting snow fight. However, things are far beyond our expectation. It is not snowy day but BLIZZARD. Heater cannot provide sufficient heat, dodgy to walk on the road, traffic disruption, and shops close earlier than usual. Nevertheless, I still post some joyful pics in order not to destroy everybody's good images of "lovely" snow. In actual fact, it's not a good idea to take a shot during harsh weather :)

Every dustbin is covered with heavy snow

Grassland becomes snowland, and lots of people go sledging

Traditional British house

It seems that brits are not used to live in flats or skyscrapers. Instead, they fancy living in houses. There is a variety of houses in the U.K, including detached house, semi-detached house, terraced house, cottage etc. As I were moving house the other day, I am gonna talk about traditional british house. The house I am staying at the moment is semi-detached house, which means two detached houses connect together.
What surprises me is the layout of houses in Britain are almost the same. Firstly, u can see colourful doors but with similar types and same size.
There is a hall behind the door. And then, living room is located either on ur right or left side together with a large bay window so that u can enjoy natural light. The room I am staying was a living room before.

At the bottom of the ground floor (1F in Taiwan) is usually kitchen and and small garden. there is a staircase halfway in the hall which is the way to the first floor (2F in Taiwan)
Finally, the most important is the house price. According to my in-depth investigation, house with 2 bed costs round 120,000 quids (equivalent to 7 million NTD), and with 4 bed costs round 300,000 quids (equivalent to 15 million NTD). However, the environment is wicked. 15 minute walk to grassland with cows, which might be 5 times bigger than 大安 forest park as well as 20 min walk to Jesmond Dene, which is similar to 陽明山 national park but with fewer cars. Anyway, I'm gonna introduce living environment later on.

A wide variety of Taiwanese food

Finally, two semesters has been past and I've got more free time the other day doing some interesting things such as cooking!!
In Britain, an ordinary sandwich costs more than 2 quid as well as 1 quid with a bottle of mineral water. As a result, it's vitally pivotal for skint students to do some handmade meals. In Taiwan, one of my favourite food is dumplings so I decided to find out a recipe and started cooking!! It seemed straightforward to make fillings and I bought wrappers at China town which cost me 2.1 quid for 40 pieces. So pricey. But other ingredients are cheap including vinegar, minced pork, sweet heart lettuce, soya sauce and some water. Quite easy, isn't it?

However, an idea came to my mind that maybe I could fry the dumplings. Here u can see, another form of food is produced!! Taiwanese food is lovely :) Same food can vary with distinct cooking methods.
As the wrappers were running out and I've still got some fillings remained, I was wondering if I could use the fillings to make "pork thick soup" 肉羹湯. Afterwards, I were spooning them into soup with weird British beef cube, and it tasted not bad. It appeared that I invented a new soup. Gorgeous!

Animals anywhere!!

Every time on my way home from Newcastle Robinson library, I've got to cross a park alongside City Council. The park is just located near city centre where I can see rabbits, pigeons, and even ducks. How lucky brits are living with a great variety of animals : )

Upcoming beach season

It was taken in Nice located in South France. The pic looks like fake sky, fake sea and even like a scene in a film. That would be lovely if there were three hotties with bikini lying on the deck chairs. Unfortunately, it was winter at that time.

Scenery in Lake District

The pic was shot in lake district where is one of the most popular resorts in the U.K. It's very hard to show the atmosphere so I try to use panorama mode. personally, I reckon it's like a scene of horror film with gloom

Travel Memory Repository

Several postercards are attached on the noticeboard. For me, they are chocolates, they are memories during the last year. The first card bought when my junior high classmate invited me to Cambridge, The first card bought when I wandered around the road in France and Spain, the first card received from brit classmate during Xmas and the first card received from my cousin when I study aboard. Maybe after several years, they will be stored in my drawer but the pic will bring me endless memory.

Castle in Fairy Tale

The pic was shot in Carcassonne in Southern France. This castle is prominent for its double wall which aims for preventing intruders from Roman period to medieval period. In 1997, it was inscribed as world heritage. People describe the castle as "Must visit Carcassonne prior to death". However, the pic seems that vampires are gonna appear!!

The warm Sun always makes people happy

In the U.K, Sunlight is extremely precious. The picture was taken on the coach when travelling back from Leeds. It's warming, isn't it?

What a stunning view from my flat!!

After finishing the supper, it's just round 7pm. When I'm moving my view from the most popular show called "大學生了沒" to the window, the stunning view is profoundly catching my eye!! At that time, I decided to stay in the U.K.
